"Two Romantic Duos (II)"![]()
Two further wonderful pedal harp transcriptions by the highly talented harpist and arranger, Elsa Garcia de Andrés.
The Piano Trio op.17 has been recognized by many as one of Clara Schumann's most prominent compositions. A year after finishing it, Robert Schumann composed his first Piano Trio op.63 and in his piece we see the influence of his wife, both works sharing many interesting similarities; their trios were frequently paired at concerts. There are four movements, this transcription being of the third, marked Andante. Duration c.5 min.
Rosalind F. Ellicott composed the piano Trio No. 2 in D Minor in1891 but it was not performed until 1903, when it was finally premiered at Gloucester Guildhall on the 29th of October.
This composition, along with all her other chamber works and songs, was well received and regularly performed at festivals. There are four movements, this transcription being of the first, marked Allegro Appassionato. Duration c.11 min.
